Entry Requirements

In order to be eligible for university studies in Hungary, a student must demonstrate that they meet several requirements for the course or program. There are certain general entry requirements that all students must meet. In addition, there are entry requirements that are specific to the course the student is applying for. For example, an engineering course may require a higher level of previous maths studies. Information on the specific entry requirements can be found on the individual program page.
In order to be offered a place in a bachelor’s (first cycle or undergraduate) program, you must have successfully completed your upper secondary (high school) education and be able to demonstrate the minimum language requirement.
The following language tests with the indicated minimum score are accepted:
TOEFL (iBT internet-based)   66 points 
IELTS (Overall Band Score)    5.5 
Cambridge ESOL      B2 level 
TELC         B2 level 
ECL      B2 level 
Oxford Online Placement Test      70 points

You do not have to submit an official English test result if one of the following criteria applies to you: 

  • You have a major/minor in English, i.e. the English language is the field of study (studies in English linguistics or literature)
  • You have continued your undergraduate studies in the English language
  • You are a native English-speaking applicants (a copy of your passport for proof)
 Documents you need to upload digitally when submitting your application:
  •  Copy of your secondary school leaving certificate
  • Copy of your transcript of previous studies or academic records
  • CV in English
  • Completed application form with a passport size photo
  • Proof of language knowledge (e.g. Language exam certificate)
  • The payment receipt of the application fee
  • Motivation letter
  • Medical certificate, Vaccination card and HIV test
  • Copy of the photo-page(s) of your passport
